What is steward-ship?
steward-ship is web software for running sustainability reporting under CSRD/ESRS 2026, TSRS and the Voluntary Standard (VS) as one auditable process: scoping, double materiality, data collection and approval, GHG inventory, supplier data, assurance and report building.
Why steward-ship
EU and Turkey in one product
Simplified ESRS (2026), TSRS 1–2 and the Voluntary Standard on one data model. Exporters to the EU do not need two tools.
Audit-ready data
Append-only history for every value, segregation of duties (makers cannot approve), evidence files and a one-click evidence pack with SHA-256 hashes.
Supplier data within the value-chain cap
Suppliers with up to 1,000 employees are only asked for VS information; they answer through a link, without an account.
AI that cites its sources
Answers from the official standards with page references; report sections drafted from your approved data, never inventing missing figures.
GHG inventory
Scope 1–2–3 per the GHG Protocol; Scope 2 location- and market-based; Scope 3 data quality and supplier-specific factors.
Ready for XBRL
Datapoints mapped to EFRAG taxonomy IDs (ESRS26_…); the basis for digital tagging once the taxonomy is final.
Quick answers
Can one tool handle both CSRD/ESRS and Turkish TSRS reporting?
Yes. steward-ship keeps the simplified ESRS (2026), TSRS 1–2 and the Voluntary Standard (VS) in a single data model, with the mappings between frameworks in the same system. Scoping, double materiality, data collection, approval and report drafting run as one auditable process, so there is no need for separate tools for the EU and Türkiye or for moving data between spreadsheets.
How do non-EU exporters calculate embedded emissions for CBAM?
steward-ship's CBAM module calculates embedded emissions per product and production route. Where actual data is missing, it applies the EU default values (Implementing Regulation 2025/2621 as corrected by 2026/1740; 122 country tables) with the yearly mark-up. It projects certificate costs from the EU ETS price and the phase-out of free allocation, and AI can build the process model from a written description of the production line.
Is there an AI tool that reads utility invoices into a Scope 1 and 2 inventory?
steward-ship reads consumption, period and site from PDF or image utility invoices with AI, and parses Turkish e-invoice and e-archive UBL-TR XML files without AI. AI proposes the emission factor from a shortlist prepared by code, and code always does the arithmetic. A record is created only when a person approves it, and the invoice is attached to it as evidence.
How can I collect supplier ESG data without breaching the value-chain cap?
steward-ship enforces the value-chain cap in software: suppliers with up to 1,000 employees, or of unknown size, cannot be asked anything beyond the Voluntary Standard (VS). Suppliers answer through a secure link without creating an account. If they upload their own sustainability report, AI pre-fills the requested values with unit conversions for the supplier to check and submit.
How do I prepare sustainability data for limited assurance?
In steward-ship every value has a change history that cannot be deleted; the person who entered a value cannot approve it, and approval can be two-step. The assurance provider gets time-limited, read-only access to data and evidence and asks questions inside the system. Values, change history, evidence files and the audit log download as one evidence pack with SHA-256 hashes.
How is an ESRS report tagged in Inline XBRL?
steward-ship exports ESRS data as an Inline XBRL (iXBRL) file tagged with EFRAG's draft taxonomy for the revised ESRS: 322 of the 325 datapoints in its catalogue are mapped, and the file passes Arelle validation without errors. The tag mapping will be updated when the taxonomy is final.
How do I calculate Scope 2 emissions with the Turkish grid factor?
steward-ship includes the Turkish Ministry of Energy (ETKB) consumption-point electricity factors for 2021 and 2023, and calculates location-based and market-based Scope 2 in the same inventory. With IPCC 2006, DESNZ/DEFRA 2019–2026, US EPA 2025 and the spend-based USEEIO library, around 14,700 factors are ready to use, and an organisation can add its own licensed library.
How can AI be trusted in sustainability reporting?
In steward-ship, AI proposes and people approve. The assistant answers from official standard texts with page references; code always does the calculations, and the model never produces figures. AI drafts reach a report only through the approval workflow. An organisation can switch AI features off with one setting, and while they are off no data is sent to the model provider.
How it works
- 1
Determine scope
Your company profile tells you whether CSRD and TSRS apply and which disclosures are required.
- 2
Assess materiality
Score impact and financial materiality per topic; the approved result defines the datapoints you need.
- 3
Collect and approve data
Data owners enter, approvers review; GHG and supplier data flow in automatically.
- 4
Report and get assured
The report is compiled from approved data and exported to Word; your auditor asks questions and takes the evidence pack in the same system.

Frequently asked questions
- Which standards does it support?
- The simplified ESRS (C(2026) 5010), TSRS 1 and TSRS 2, the Voluntary Standard (C(2026) 5011), and the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard and Scope 2 Guidance for emissions.
- Who is it for?
- Large companies in CSRD scope, Turkish companies above the TSRS thresholds, and mid-sized companies asked for data by banks or EU customers.
- How is AI used?
- AI answers questions from the official standards with page references and drafts report sections only from approved data; it marks missing data instead of inventing it. Drafts never enter a report without human approval.
- How do auditors work in steward-ship?
- Auditors get time-boxed read-only access, see the change history of every value, ask questions in the system and download the evidence files as a pack with SHA-256 hashes.
